Britain braced for heaviest snowfall in 50 years

Snow, snow, snow in the UK

A friend of mine from Niigata (north in Japan) is always amazed at a fuss in Tokyo on snowy days. But he has to raise much more eyebrows against the British.

In 2003, my first winter in London, we had the first snow for the last several years. All transportation services were in chaos with just 1 centimeter of snow !

The UK had a lot of snow for last couple of years. It says "heaviest snowfall in 50 years". Many people posted messages regarding it on the Twitter. You can see it by "#uksnow". Many airports were closed or most of flightsdepart with several hours' delay (even flights to Japan). So many people had to give up commuting to work and stay at home.

As far as I can see the movie above and the photos posted on the Web site by readers, everyone seems enjoying the snow.

Click here when the movie above does not appear.
